We’ve been lucky in our line of work at Aerial Picture Company. We’ve filmed across the UK, but if you ask us, something is enchanting about Wales. It’s not just a place; it’s a living, breathing storybook.
Wales has always been a filmmaker’s playground. Imagine, for a moment, filming ‘Doctor Who’ where our drones had the task of turning Welsh forests and coastlines into distant galaxies. Or soaring above rolling hills and ancient structures for ‘Class’, a teen drama set in the same universe.
Even on ‘Great British Railway Journeys’, we chased trains from the sky, capturing breathtaking countryside views. It was like creating a moving postcard of Wales’ beauty.
On the Casualty and Holby City hospital dramas, our aerial shots gave a new feel to familiar settings, adding an unexpected layer of magic to the mix.
But it’s not all drama and excitement. We also filmed ‘Coastal Walks with my Dog’ for More4. Believe me; there’s nothing like following celebs and their excited pups discovering the Welsh coast through our drones.
So, when we finally pack up the drones and the day’s work is done, we can’t help but look around and think – filming in Wales isn’t just about getting the perfect shot; it’s about capturing a place that’s as real as it gets, one genuinely unique frame at a time.
We love Wales!
