DESCRIPTION: Production has begun on William Makepeace Thackeray’s classic novel Vanity Fair. Written by Gwyneth Hughes (Dark Angel, The Girl) this landmark seven-part drama series is set against the Napoleonic Wars.
Starring Olivia Cooke as Becky Sharp and Tom Bateman as Captain Rawdon Crawley, the series also features Doctor Foster‘s Suranne Jones playing Miss Pinkerton and Michael Palin in the role of Thackeray himself.
Filming kicked off in Budapest with production moving to locations in and around London.
Aerial Picture Company has provided aerial filming in London and Reading – at key locations. Flying several aircraft including lightweight quadcopters fitted with raw cameras and heavy-lift drones shooting complex aerial sequences on Red cinema cameras.
Vanity Fair will screen in the UK on ITV in 2018, before its premiere in America on Amazon Prime Exclusive. Produced by Mammoth Screen (Poldark, Victoria).
